Makes sense. I’ve never applied the -1 for multi shots, but all of a sudden I got a little bit unsure.
Last weekend, I played a game against my buddy. He played a big Deathstar of Royal Clan dwarven Longbeards with 3 Characters in, 4 Doomseekers, some ponycarts and an anvil with T10. It took my Iron Demon with Skullcracker 2 pushes and the anvil was history ![]()
Yeah, I can see the arguments against standing in front of that.
It was delightful! He left his Anvil out alone in the open and so I was gifted the great joy of nudging my Iron demon back after the first charge and get a second blast of Impact Hits ![]()
Meanwhile, after tons of shooting, the rest of my army finally didn’t want to be mocked as cheapskates and combo charged his deathstar:
After some rounds of cc only his desperate King was left
Love my Lamassu…
Looks to have been a great game!
Regular dwarfs are some of our most favoured enemy (as it should be). No better match-up to bring a skullcracker, clearly ![]()
The lamassu hard counters the inevitably runed great weapon (sad trumpet).
In other cases, the skullcracker gets charged and the lamassu gets hit on the head with one of the abundant mundane great weapons or cut to ribbons by a dragon’s claws ![]()
Yeah, we’re clearly the better dawi!
The Lamassu tanked his King for several rounds, allowing the rest of the army to wipe the floor with his longbeards and other 2 characters. The second Iron Demon survived the melee with 1 HP left.
Next game I want to try if I can squeeze Ironsworn into a strong list:
1995 Pts Chaos Dwarfs
354 - Black Orc Warboss, Wyvern, Great Weapon, Enchanted Shield, Trollhide Trousers, Effigy Of Mork
345 - Sorcerer-Prophet, General, Wizard Level 4, Daemonology, Darkforged Weapon, Blood of Hashut, Scroll of Binding, Mantle of Stone, Talisman Of Protection
92 - 5 Black Orc Mobs
• 3x Black Orc, Shield, Great Weapon
• 1x Boss, Shield, Great Weapon
• 1x Musician, Shield, Great Weapon, Stubborn
30 - 10 Hobgoblin Cutthroats, Shortbow
95 - 30 Hobgoblin Cutthroats, Shortbow, Musician
418 - 20 Infernal Guard, Deathmask, Standard Bearer, Razor Standard, Musician, Hailshot Blunderbusses, Shield, Drilled
45 - Hobgoblin Bolt Thrower
45 - Hobgoblin Bolt Thrower
571 - 21 Infernal Ironsworn, Overseer, Pistol, Hellshard, Standard Bearer, The Lammasu’s Beard, Musician, Great Weapon, Shield
My gut feeling tells me Ironsworn need bigger games, as I struggle to get a second flying Monster into this list.
I guess, I could drop some Hobos for a Lamassu but then there isn’t much left in the table…
2500 and up seems to be the place for our chosen.
Sorry if this has already been resolved, but was it ever cleared up whether Sneaky Gits would still have Ambushers and Wolf Riders would still have Feigned Flight if those units were joined by a Khan?
Not specifically those two, no. But I think we can pretty accurately infer it from other rules:
Evasive, Fire & Flee and Reserve Move can all be used if more than half of the models in the unit have the rule. I feel Feigned Flight plays in the same category.
Units cannot make a Vanguard move if joined by a character without it. I’m very positive that this is true for Ambushers (and Scouts, for that matter) as well.
I wasn’t sure either but this deduction from similar rules makes most sense to me, too.
I played my first TOW game against a friendly HE list (so it wasn’t especially competitive) and went with a big block of 30 Blunderbusses, an Earthshaker, Rocket Launcher, Lammasu Prophet, Iron Daemon, a block of Hobgoblins and some Wolfriders with a Khan.
I found the Earthshaker combined with the magic damage and annoyance from the Wolfriders to be quite oppressive. The blunders almost act as an area denial tool which simply prolongs the pounding.
The Iron Daemon was as amazing as stories promised, putting 2 of these down would be utter filth.
Rocket Launcher was crap but I was unlucky with the misfires.
Felt like Elves were a good matchup as long as you can chew them down a bit before they get to you
Did all of that fit into 2000 pts or did you play with more?
I think this was my list (although it was on my other computer)

Created with “Old World Builder”
Here is list I’m planning to take to an event next month
Theory is pressure and points denial in a compact build with multiple threats and some janky combos.
It can huddle around the lamasu banner for protection and between unbreakable/stubborn can take a charge then counter - an iron daemon charging with skullcracker should dent anything in the game, and between the lamasu/black orc I can challenge out tricky dragons/ogre blades to hold them up

Any thoughts please let me know?
It looks pretty tight to me!
It’s so funny that a Black Orc in a Wyvern is now a part of every competitive Chaos Dwarf list.
I sort of want to model a Greater Daemon of Hashut and run it using the rules for the Black Orc on Wyvern. ![]()

Excellent proxy if you ask me!
Had a 22 man tournament yesterday, it was a lot of fun
You guys may be interested to know that 1st place was Chaos Dwarf (not me). His list here:
155 - Daemonsmith Sorcerer, Wizard Level 2, Daemonology, Vial of Lammasu Blood
285 - Sorcerer-Prophet, General, Wizard Level 4, Elementalism, Lore Familiar, Ruby Ring of Ruin
77 - 20 Hobgoblin Cutthroats, Shortbow, Boss, Standard Bearer, Musician
77 - 20 Hobgoblin Cutthroats, Shortbow, Boss, Standard Bearer, Musician
472 - 23 Infernal Guard, Deathmask, Standard Bearer, Razor Standard, Musician, Hailshot Blunderbusses, Shield, Drilled
194 - 3 Bull Centaur Renders, Bull Centaur Ba’hal, Charmed Shield, Standard Bearer, Shield
120 - Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher
310 - Iron Daemon, Steam Cannonade, Hellbound
310 - Iron Daemon, Steam Cannonade, Hellbound
Important to note that there was a 25% allowance each “Lords and heroes” comp, which obviously affects list building quite a bit. I assume his strategy was to zoom around and shoot stuff, while letting his ID’s and hobos soak up damage, but I didn’t ask or have time to see for myself. He won 20/20/19, so he must’ve done something right. Afaik he’s also an incredibly skilled player.
I myself placed at what I think is a respectable 5 or 6 out of the 22, which I’m happy with. My exploits here: [TOW] The Shadow Grows
Excellent report! Thanks.
You should see if you can track down this gentleman and get some notes on how he ran his list, and maybe which armies he played against.
Cheers!
As a result of this thread, my second Iron Daemon is coming along well. ![]()

Yeah no doubt that dual iron daemons is strictly amazing value for the points. I don’t think it’ll make a lot of friends in casual games, however, but that’s not the topic of this thread ![]()
A kitted out Taurus prophet like mine, alongside a blorc wyvern boss with the effigy of Mork, and two of them land trains, that’s pretty much as greasy as it gets. A pair of giant hobo units with the overseer’s sigil between them, for core ![]()
