Niiiice - I’ll have a little look
thanks mate
I love that blue! It’s pretty. I’ll probably get some kind of mention in some kind of grudge thing somewhere for calling a chaos dwarf pretty, but that’s what it is!
Nah you’ll be fine…
maintains eye contact but silently nods to a nearby hobgoblin who hastily scribbles something into a large book
Always a joy to see your paintjobs. One really feels the old-school vibes looking at those latest warriors and bull centaurs.
Forgive the older stuff. I need to get this blog up to date or give up with it. Im happy how this juggernaught came out, it is the army centre piece i always wanted. Please note my juggernaught is superior to most others in design as i made sure i had a ladder so the guys could go through the trap doors that you cant even see!
A fantastic centrepiece indeed, great work on this guy!

Looks great, is that the Macrocosm one?
Yes it is. Ive also seen a decent looking scotia grendel siege tower since that could be re-purposed
Hmm could only get 2 of the 4 photos uploaded. The cd beserkers are also macrocosm. There are denizen dwarves there and a norba chaos dwarf (for some reason i just cant build them! Only thing stays stuck together is my fingers…). Then we have the admiralty death spitters that match in well with macrocosms equivalent. I think the purple plastis conversion might be the best cd ive painted so far. Perfect size to blend into the mantic cds. Then the boar centaur conversion using atom taylors boar body. The slambo minime by sjoerdo was a joy to paint. I Think the model screams khorne.
It seems im collecting chaos dwarves in 2 scales. Old 25mm size and mantics larger 28mm size.
I really admire your painting style, mate. Loved this entry. It breathes old-school Chaos, and with your paintjob you also managed to tie all those very diverse miniatures together.
And for some reason, those berserkers in the back are genuinely scary. While all CDs are, of course, scary, these really look like something that would hunt you in your dreams
Thanks antenor. If i had even a fraction of your sculpting skills id have put a few extra helmets onto the beserkers to tie them in better.
Now that im up to date. The 2 biggest problems ive found when collecting chaos dwarves are the lack of hobgoblin and centaur models out there (and the associated size issues). I finally saw some grenadier hobgoblins i liked the look of and order a regiment with a few goblins that also looked hobbo-like. I didnt consider the size though…they are massive( black orc alternatives maybe?) The goblins in their range look a much better fit in terms of size and are taller than normal goblins with thinner faces and hair
A couple more centaur conversions too. Ive bought a lot of different centaurs recently but they dont fit in the best
Excellent progress! Distinctive and beautifully painted CD army. Neat conversions as well. Keep at it!
A couple of Chronicle Hobgoblins or Greater Goblins? in the middle 5 there.
They are grenadier goblins. They are sold pretty cheap by a seller on ebay (forlornhopegames) at the moment. I bought the larger hobgoblins but they are too big, if i use them they will be black orcs. Very nice old models ; )
Ive ordered more gobbos to make a regiment (of hobbos). Their long skinny faces and hair make them stand apart from goblins i think
Thankyou v much. I received my hobgoblins and prize safely thankyou
The old Grenadier models are now available from Mirliton in Italy. Here is the link! Btw. the Orks and Goblins are also cool!
Yes i think the goblin models are a better fit for normal hobbos size-wise but the the big possibly nicer hobgoblin brutes had to be trimmed to fit on 25mm bases.
Its a great old range oozing with charm, im kinda wondering if i could incorporate the dwarf bat riders or the bear ridersinto a 8th fantasy army somehow… plenty of bear rider dwarves out there…maybe a good alternative to the big bull centaurs?
I have been doing an extensive search on chaos dwarf models out there. Things i cant get are the things i want the most…sods law! The rafm ox chariot is very cool but seems long gone. The juggernaught by old glory miniatures from america is £50 postage to uk and of course clams excellent chaos dwarves…
That’s right, the RAFM ox chariot is really cool, I’ve also got one … somewhere … only where? I have to search! The “juggernaut” from Old Glory is ok, my son “talked me out of it”.
So it appears old glory have a uk site where you can order fantasy stuff. The juggernaught might be too small for my uses. Does any1 have one built where they could compare macrocosms dark dwarves with it and see if they fit?
And zanko get thst ox chariot painted and make me jealous
